Fortect Mac Suite: Security & Scan Settings

George Picardal

Configure Fortect’s protection behavior in one place. Use Security & Scan Settings to enable always-on defenses, define how archives are scanned, and control cleanup policies for Quarantine and Reports. These settings affect both real-time protection and manual scans.

Open Fortect → click Settings → open Security.

  • “Real-Time Malware Protection” — keep On for continuous detection.
  • “Cloud Protection” — keep On to improve detection with cloud lookups.

Compressed files

  • “Scan within archives” — turn On to inspect contents of ZIP and other archives.
  • “Maximum archive size to scan” — set a limit.

Quarantine policy

  • “Limit folder size for quarantine files” — cap storage.
  • “Auto-delete quarantined files after” — set retention..

Reports

  • “Auto-delete reports after” — set retention. Default: 7 days.

Restore Default Settings

  • Revert all sections to factory defaults.

Your Mac uses the protection level and housekeeping rules you set. Real-time detection stays active, archives are scanned per your limits, and Quarantine/Reports are auto-cleaned on the schedule you chose.
